SoLo Backup & Clean Privacy Addendum

Effective: July 18, 2026

This addendum applies specifically to the SoLo Backup & Clean Android app and supplements the main SoLoVision Privacy Policy. If the two conflict for this app, this addendum controls.

1. Our Relationship with SoLoVision

SoLo Backup & Clean is developed and published by SoLoVision LLC. The Android app is a local-first backup and storage-care utility with no SoLoVision account requirement, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or SoLoVision media server. Storage analysis, media review, duplicate and similarity checks, cleanup suggestions, app recommendations, and message archive encryption run on the device. The optional Live Chat screen connects to SoLoVision's self-hosted Chatwoot support service only when you open it.

2. Information Processed on the Device

Depending on the features and permissions you choose, the app may process:

  • Device storage totals and locally accessible photo and video metadata or content needed for scanning, previews, backup, and cleanup.
  • SMS, MMS, message addresses, timestamps, bodies, and MMS attachments when you start message backup or restore.
  • Launcher-app size and recent-use information when you separately grant Android Usage Access.
  • Preferences such as low-storage monitoring, scan cache, verified-backup state, and confirmation dates.

SoLoVision does not receive this app content.

3. Optional Google Drive Photo Backup

When you start photo backup, Android’s secure folder picker asks you to choose a folder under Google Drive. SoLo Backup & Clean creates a clearly named subfolder, copies the selected media through Android’s document provider, and verifies each copy by byte size. The app requests no Google OAuth, releases its saved folder access when the backup ends, and never sends the media through SoLoVision systems. The app's internet permission is reserved for user-opened support and is not used by backup. Google Drive may continue syncing after the app finishes copying, so confirm the files in Drive before using the separate cleanup tools.

4. Encrypted SMS and MMS Archives

Message backup creates a password-protected archive on the device using password-derived keys and chunked AES-GCM authenticated encryption. Android’s document picker saves the archive to the destination you choose, including a connected document provider such as Google Drive. SoLoVision does not receive the archive, password, messages, phone numbers, or attachments.

Restore reads only the file you select, keeps existing messages, skips deterministic matches, and requests Android’s temporary default-SMS role because Android restricts message-provider writes. Airplane mode is required during that temporary role window to prevent a new carrier message from arriving while SoLo Backup & Clean is the default. RCS content is not read; the app opens Android’s official backup screen for RCS protection.

5. Cleanup and Android System Controls

The app does not silently delete media or apps. You review cleanup candidates and Android presents confirmation where required. App uninstall, app-specific storage, Downloads, device storage management, default-app selection, and permission changes remain under Android’s control. Sending an item to Android trash may not release storage until the trash is emptied.

6. Permissions and Your Choices

The app requests access only when a feature needs it:

AccessPurposeControl
Photos and videosScan, preview, back up, and submit user-selected media to Android for cleanup.Android runtime permission or selected-photo access.
SMS and MMSCreate or restore an encrypted message archive when you start that feature.Android runtime permission and a temporary default-SMS role for restore.
Usage AccessCompare user-launchable app size with the last time an app was opened.Optional special access in Android Settings.
NotificationsShow an optional low-storage reminder.Optional Android runtime permission on supported versions.
Internet and network stateLoad the app-specific SoLoVision Live Chat only after you open support.Use Help Center or Contact Support instead of Live Chat.
Install package removal requestOpen Android’s uninstall confirmation for an app you chose.Android always presents the final confirmation.
  • Deny or revoke photo, video, SMS, notification, and other runtime permissions in Android Settings.
  • Keep selected-photo access limited or grant broader access for full-library storage scanning.
  • Decline optional Usage Access and use Android’s app-management screen instead.
  • Cancel photo backup at any time. The app releases its saved Google Drive folder access when the backup ends.
  • Disable low-storage monitoring and delete local app data through Android Settings.
  • Skip Live Chat and use the Help Center or support website instead.

7. Google Play Data Safety Summary

SoLoVision does not collect or share photos, videos, messages, app-usage history, backup archives, scan results, or diagnostic data from the Android app. The app does not contain an advertising or analytics SDK. When you open Live Chat, SoLoVision's Chatwoot support system receives the conversation text and contact details you choose to provide, a support-session identifier, normal connection information such as IP address and user agent, approximate country or city information if Chatwoot's IP lookup is enabled, and static routing metadata such as app name, Android platform, package name, app version, source, request type, and subject. No media, messages, archives, passwords, scans, or cleanup results are attached automatically.

Data you deliberately copy to a Google Drive folder is transferred through Android’s Storage Access Framework to the Google Drive provider you selected. That provider processes the copy under your Google account and Google’s terms. It does not pass through SoLoVision systems.

Support information is encrypted in transit, used for customer support and developer communication, and not sold or used for advertising. You can request deletion through the app-specific data deletion page.

8. Retention, Security, and Accounts

Local scan cache, preferences, and aggregate backup receipts remain on the device until replaced, cleared in the app where available, or removed through Android app-data controls. Temporary restore attachments are stored in private app cache and cleared during normal restore lifecycle handling; Android may also clear cache. The Chatwoot visitor session remains in private WebView storage so you can return to the same support conversation. Google Drive’s Android document provider handles its own cloud synchronization under your Google account.

The app does not create a SoLoVision account or store backup and cleanup content on SoLoVision infrastructure, so there is no developer account to delete. A separate support conversation can be deleted after a verified request using the email address provided to support.

9. Contact and Data Deletion

Questions about this addendum can be submitted through SoLo Backup & Clean Support, reviewed in the app data deletion guide, or emailed to support@solovisionllc.com.
